Last weekend was the Los Angeles Invitational put on by Team Dream Team / Cub House where registered riders were able to pick one of three routes based on their desired distance and elevation. Proceeds were donated to The Lowe Lifes who are always up in these mountains maintaining trails.
The day was a scorcher. 95+ degree freak hot day…freak in the way that the days surrounding it were 10-20 degrees cooler. Since this was a ride and not a race everyone kind of did their own thing…some went straight up to Mt. Wilson where Cheech was running the Crust aid station.
I rode mostly with Scuba and our friend Thomas up until about half way when I started to cramp in both of my legs and Scuba got a serious tire boil and decided to commandeer my bike while sending his down the mountain for rehab.
So back down to the shop with Sean I went, got my car and drove up to the Crust aid station only to find that the party I kept hearing about had fizzled to almost nothing (empty Tequila bottles). Long story short (I really don’t feel like typing), it was a fun day in the mountains with a ton of people.
