It’s no secret we love Golden Saddle Cyclery with all of our little hearts so it is hard to believe they will be shutting their doors for good on December 1st. It is also hard to believe that last Friday was the “last Friday ride” since there is still 4 more Fridays but regardless I don’t think there will ever be another one with well over 100 people (Cache posted a clip and I counted 92ish people riding by but I know many people were in front and behind that group).

For me it was nearly 6 years ago that I limped in there and spoke to Kyle about buying a bike. A few days later he loaned me one of his, I rode it around, and when I returned it a week later he and Jimmy started the process of getting my first bike. There is other bullshit involved in this story (like Terps making me go OTB on my first ride) but long story short the place became a spot to lurk, learn from, and drink at. Gonna really miss it, but thankfully all the friends I met there are still in town and we will still be able to hang out, just not on Lucile Beach. Love you all!
