Occhio, Malocchio, Prezzemolo e Finocchio!

Matt just had this 53cm Malocchio from the upcoming production run air shipped over from Taiwan and, wow, it’s a stunner. It’s had a big change in the looks department compared to the Robin Egg Blue sample run from late last year. Our friend Pucci (@ciclipucci on the gram) revamped the graphics set with our other friend Larry (@larry_ravioli on the gram) providing the inspiration for the saying on the chainstay (reference video below). It’s all laid over top a simple black, bringing the classic, menacing vibe out of the fine Italian Columbus Spirit tubeset.

For those unfamiliar with the Malocchio, it is a modern take on a top tier classic lugged Italian road frame. It was dreamed and designed with our friend and Crust Bikes Alumni, Travers Martin. It utilizes Columbus’ most advanced top-of-the-line Spirit tubeset, keeping it light weight, and providing the ride quality and characteristics you would expect out of a classic high end steel road frame, but without the wear and tear of it being from the 1980’s. The other big plus is that you aren’t stuck running a 700x23c tire and subsequently breaking both of your wrists and pelvic bone (but you totally can if you want, thats cool!). The Malocchio will fit some nice, fast rolling, supple, sticky 42c(b) tires. The three smaller sizes are designed around 650b and the four larger sizes are designed around 700c.
The premier run of the Malocchio has been completed and is estimated to be here some time in August. It’s not looking like we will be doing any sort of presale, but if you’d like to be notified of availability you can do two things:
  • Sign up for our “Only Fans” Email. To do so, just hit the Crust site, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and enter your email where you are able to in the bottom left corner.
  • OR you can sign up to be notified via email the very moment that they are in stock, and also check out some more photos, and in depth detail on the Malocchio Product Page.
